St. Mark’s Episcopal Church Men meet monthly on the second Saturday at 8:00 a.m. in the Parish Hall for breakfast and fellowship. All Christian men, especially those who attend services at St. Mark’s, are welcome for fellowship and friendship. Our members include men from the clergy, Vestry, and each of the three Sunday services. We encourage open and honest discussions on a variety of topics during these informal get-togethers. These breakfast events are an outstanding opportunity to spend time with other men in our church family in a relaxed and friendly environment. Our meetings are not prayer or instruction-orientated. This group has no membership or attendance requirements. So come frequently or occasionally; all men and young adults are welcome at any of our breakfast gatherings. Along with the usual coffee, juice, scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon, the various meals have included French toast, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and even Belgium waffles! A modest ($4 - $5) donation is collected after the breakfast to pay for the food prepared and served by Lee and Gerrie Mangum. These breakfast meetings provide an insight into our individual talents, interests, and abilities. Proactively or upon request, we volunteer our collective abilities in support of St. Mark’s various ministries such as Alpha support, clean up for the Bazaar, Shrove Tuesday’s pancake supper and pot-luck meals. We also assist with the maintenance of St. Mark’s grounds, buildings and furnishings.
