LENT 2008

The Nature of Lent

Our worship for this season of Lent will take us deeper into a spiritual journey with God using all our senses.  Each week at all services we will observe a symbol connected with the Gospel lessons and presented in beautiful art on the bulletin covers.  A full-color take-home folder will be available for each household each Sunday and will include reflections on art and scripture for the week.  A new Gospel hymn each week sung to familiar tunes will aid in your prayers.  Silence will be a part of worship at the time of communion at the 11 service.

For the Sundays in Lent, the 9 AM services will move to the Parish Hall so that we might make use of the space for hands-on experiences that will enrich your worship.  You are strongly encouraged to attend each week and bring friends and neighbors with you as these services combine the best of Episcopal liturgy with innovative presentations of music, drama, and art.  The children’s Sunday School classes will each take a turn interpreting the Gospel for the day.  The hall will be set up in various ways to signal the theme for the day and to focus our prayers.
